The space

Self check-in makes arrival easy. The cottage is a private, smaller guest home set toward the back of our 1-acre property, with its own covered carport. You’ll enter the driveway, pass the main home and barn-style shed, and find the cottage tucked farther back from the road. This is a lived-in, evolving country property rather than a polished resort. We continue improving the land and surroundings, while the cottage itself is a comfortable, well-built vintage space that is thoughtfully maintained. You may hear light sounds of country living. Our dogs, chickens, ducks and goat are securely contained, and the cottage provides its own private space. Inside you’ll find a Beautyrest adjustable base queen bed, daybed with pull-out trundle, kitchenette, washer/dryer, WiFi and a foldable table for dining or remote work. Walk to Butler Park, the seasonal town pool and the river. Many guests also use the cottage for weekday work trips, temporary assignments, remote work or easy access to Sedona without staying in the middle of the busiest tourist areas. A Cuisinart electric grill is available under the carport for guest use. There are ducks, dogs, a goat, chickens, and Teddy Roostervelt the rooster on the property. We’re a disabled combat veteran and first responder family, and we appreciate guestswho choose to support a small family-run stay. Military and first responder discounts may occasionally be available depending on current pricing. We try to keep the property practical and resourceful through solar power, reuse, reclaimed materials and reduced waste. Our on-site movement studio is fully solar powered. Optional private wellness sessions may be available by advance request for an additional fee, including yoga, restorative aerial yoga, mat Pilates, sound baths, breathwork, guided rest and ladies-only pole sessions. Availability varies. Pets are welcome when properly declared and the applicable pet fee is paid.

Guest access

You’ll have full private access to the cottage, porch and attached carport. The cottage is separate from the main home and set toward the back of our 1-acre property. To maintain privacy and safety, we ask guests to enjoy the cottage and its immediate porch/carport area rather than roaming the full property unless invited. We’re happy to introduce you to our chickens and ducks, just message us and we’ll coordinate a time. Trailer parking may be available with advance notice. Children should be supervised outdoors, as this is an active country property with animals, natural terrain and typical Arizona outdoor conditions. Possible late checkout may occasionally be available depending on the booking schedule and may involve an additional fee

It is a cozy arrangement and may not be ideal for guests looking for a large amount of indoor space. Kitchen: The cottage has a kitchenette rather than a full-size kitchen. Pets: Dogs are welcome when properly declared and the applicable pet fee is paid. Please contact us before bringing other animals because of allergies. Extended stays: Reservations longer than 14 days may require periodic cleaning. Seasonal items: Fresh eggs and certain outdoor features may vary by season and availability. Country setting: You may experience dust, mud after rain, wildlife, outdoor sounds, bright stars and other normal elements of Arizona country living. Property surroundings: The cottage is private, but it sits on the same 1-acre property as our main home, family, animals and other structures. Smoking: No smoking or vaping inside the cottage of any kind. Outdoor smoking is permitted and all smoking materials must be extinguished properly and disposed of properly. Any smoking or vaping of any kind inside will result in an extra cleaning fee and possible extra fee if we have to block the night out to air out the home at our discrection. Cleaning: All dishes must be washed it is ok to leave in the dryng rack. Also the coffeemaker must be emptied and rinsed if used. These are non-negotiable and may incur an extra cleaning fee at our discrection. These are also the only tasks we ask guests to do. If you like (but not expected) you are welcome to sweep or strip beds that were used but do not put in or start the washer please. While in the home all food should be secured and counters kept free of crumbs and food to discourage pests. If you need to take trash out or dispose of pet waste during your stay please use the black trash cans between the solar panels and the main home.

Interaction with guests

We respect our guests’ privacy and are happy to let you enjoy a quiet, uninterrupted stay. We live locally and are available by message if you need anything during your visit. We’re also happy to share recommendations for exploring Camp Verde, Sedona, local wildlife, fishing and nearby outdoor areas. Depending on availability, my husband may occasionally offer wildlife-watching drives or other outdoor experiences available including hunting or fishing.
